This article presents an author’s diagnostic toolkit on the topic of Fractions, which can be used directly by teachers of mathematics or to serve as a template for the development of new tools for secondary and upper primary stage of education. The main steps of the technology for constructing tasks for higher cognitive levels are outlined. A specification table has been completed to reflect the procedural knowledge and metacognition. Methodological guidelines have been developed for teachers to use the developed criterion test. The first variant of the diagnostic test is provided together with ъ a part of the solutions and variants of additional questions to the last task.
